This 130-unit townhouse development allows for handicapped accessibility in accordance with HUD guidelines and the Disabilities Act and was designed to accommodate various unit sizes, including units for large families and for senior citizens. The LWDMR /K. Hovnanian Team submitted the award-winning design for the 130-unit townhouse development as a Competition Request For Proposals.
LWDMR provided comprehensive architectural services for the Family Education and Support Center, which constitutes in part the $50 million HOPE VI Revitalization Program for the Curries Woods Housing Development. This newly constructed 14,000 square foot, single-story structure includes new access roads, perimeter landscaping, 10,000 square feet of educational classrooms for Pre-K through Adult Education, 4,000 sq ft for community space, including offices, a commercial kitchen, a multi-purpose activity area designed to accommodate two hundred people, and educational computer and telecommunication provisions. Awarded for the Family Education and Support Center was received through a design competition.
